Home Technologies PDH – Profiled Die Heat
PDH -Profiled Die Heat Sealing
Profiled Die Heat (PDH) technology uses precision-engineered profiled sealing dies to deliver accurate, repeatable seals across complex shapes, rigid packaging formats and specialist applications. Developed from Ceetak's proven Low Voltage Heating (LVH) technology, PDH combines rapid thermal response, exceptional temperature control and outstanding energy efficiency for demanding sealing processes.
The PDH Sealing Process
PDH uses highly conductive profiled sealing dies engineered to match the exact geometry of the product being sealed. Unlike traditional tooling plates fitted with cartridge heaters, the compact die profile heats and cools rapidly while maintaining accurate operating temperatures across the complete sealing surface.
A unique heat transfer module and highly accurate temperature controller regulate heat to within ±1°C across the sealing face, ensuring consistent seal quality while transferring heat only where it is required. This targeted heat delivery reduces energy losses, improves process efficiency and supports faster production cycles.
Why PDH Technology?
Precision Profiled Tooling
Custom-engineered sealing dies accurately match complex product geometries, delivering repeatable sealing performance across specialist packaging applications.
Precise Temperature Control
A pre-configured temperature controller accurately maintains operating temperature for every sealing cycle. Typical heat-up times of 3–5 mins. enable rapid start-up. Consistently high-integrity seals are produced during production.
Rapid Thermal Response
The PDH highly conductive profile dies heat up and cool down significantly faster than conventional sealing tooling, increasing productivity and reducing cycle times.
Energy Efficient Operation
Heat is transferred directly to the sealing face, reducing energy loss and cutting energy consumption compared with traditional sealing systems which pass heat into the surrounding environment and contact parts of the machine.
PDH Technology in Action
Engineered for Complex Packaging Applications
PDH has been developed for applications where conventional flat sealing systems are unable to deliver the required seal geometry. Custom profiled tooling allows complex trays, pots, cartons, sandwich packs and other specialist packaging formats to be sealed accurately and consistently.
Available in virtually any shape or profile, each system is engineered to suit the application, providing manufacturers with the flexibility to seal increasingly complex packaging designs from a single technology platform.
Retrofittable for Existing Production Lines
PDH systems can be supplied as retrofit modules for existing heat sealing machinery or fully integrated into new bespoke machine builds. Compact tooling, simplified maintenance and rapid tool changes minimise downtime while improving overall production efficiency.
Developed from Ceetak's proven LVH platform, PDH combines low operating costs, reduced maintenance requirements and long-term reliability with comprehensive engineering support from installation through to commissioning.
Applications and Material Compatibility
PDH technology is ideally suited to tray sealing, lidding applications, sandwich wedges, rigid containers, paperboard packaging, valve fitments, spouts and other specialist packaging formats requiring complex sealing geometries. Its ability to use custom profiled tooling enables manufacturers to seal products that cannot be achieved using conventional flat sealing systems.
Compatible with laminates, polyethylene films, paper, board products and compostable materials, PDH provides manufacturers with exceptional flexibility from a single sealing platform while maintaining precise temperature control, high seal integrity and outstanding energy efficiency.
